This song is about growing out of inevitable darkness. In writing this I was trying to feel One With Nature while also reconciling deep religion-induced patterns of guilt in myself. Looking back on the lyrics and reflecting on them, I think what I was getting at is this: there are times where nature is mean, there are times where god is silent, there are times where the night seems never ending and times when our mistakes seem to black out the sun. But it is in those times we plant seeds for the coming light, understanding that all things both ugly and lovely are made up of the same elements; they can always be rearranged into something more beautiful.
