This is an instrumental piano song that took me many many attempts to finish. The original version of it, I could only remember one half of- I spent months trying to remember what my fingers did for the ending, but simply could not recall the details. I decided I'd have to write a new ending, which felt like giving up. However I think this unlocked a new way of thinking for me when it comes to songwriting: A song has infinite paths. There are multiple ways for a song to be correct. In this case, the best option I had was to make an alternative to the original. My challenge was to write something as authentic. Perhaps it would have been impossible to be authentic to the moment I first wrote it, but I could still be authentic to the current place I was in life. This is why I titled the song as such. I revisited a feeling and brought some new feelings into it. I wish I would have recorded it on an acoustic piano, but what I had available to me at the time was a keyboard. I made it work. I would still like to try recording some of my piano work again on an acoustic piano when I get the chance.
